Yet Another Useless Survey

I’ve had a couple of conversations about useless advertising media campaign reviews over the past few days. They had a familiar ring …

It feels like every time I buy something online, I receive a survey request a few minutes later. (And no, it’s not just Telstra and Foxtel)

I used to reply saying “If you really want to know what I think, just ask me”. But then I’d get a return error saying that their email was ‘no-reply’.

Yes, a request for feedback sent in a ‘no-reply’ email.

Feedback used to be an opportunity for companies to learn and improve. Now it’s only valuable to build customer databases and be used for promoting what a great job they’ve done.

Just like advertising media campaign reviews. Everyone’s so focused on hearing about what a great job they’ve done.

They don’t listen.

They don’t learn from mistakes.

They don’t look for ways to improve next time.
