Have I got a Deal for You!?
A client of ours had been having problems with their agency team. The senior suit was a waste of time and the junior team were willing, but under-trained and over-worked. Not an unusual situation these days. We helped our client get a new team.
The new senior client service person at the agency said that the new buyer would be a more traditional style media buyer. I wasn’t sure at first what that meant … older? … conservative? … out-of-touch? I was apprehensive.
Then at the next meeting, I understood.
The ‘new’ buyer talked clearly.
She was open, honest and constructive.
She talked about the client’s business needs
She explained how she had negotiated with the media owners, not simply accepted what she had been offered
And she talked about how she would continue to monitor and improve the campaign.
If they are “traditional” standards … what are contemporary ones?
I’ll let you think about that.
